Artist Bio

Raised in Tacoma Washington, Edgar Valentine was bound to cross paths with the art of glass at some point. Joining the Hilltop Artists program at the age of 12 gave Edgar the oppritunity to learn, and practice glassblowing techniques on a regular basis. Being able to study with some of the renowned glassblowers of the Seattle area throughout highschool opened Valentine's eyes to the wide posibilites of the material. Finding inspiration from local street art, fashion, his African American history, and the backyard nature of the Pacific Northwest, Edgar creates both sculptural, and functional glassworks.
